Dynamic Electrical Constructions (DEC) was founded in 1949 by Leo Peckman and Frank Melton as a family owned Australian company focused on delivering quality to you. Many things can change in 70 years, our name has, however our drive to deliver excellence in everything we do has not.

A brief history of Dynelec
1949 - Founded by Leo Peckman and Frank Melton
1954 - Became the first electrical contractor for AI&S
1965 - Incorporated, employing 118 staff
1979 - Became a member of the Jones & Rickard Group of companies
1995 - Appointed Phil Peckman as Managing Director
1997 - Rob Robson appointed as Engineering Manager
2002 - Steve Whitehead appointed as Service Manager
2015 - Name changed to Dynelec Australia
         - Dynelec becomes Licenced Eaton xEnergy Partner

2016 onwards:         

  • Accredited to AS/NZS4801 and NSW Government WHS Management System Edition 5
  • Dynelec becomes a 100% owned subsidiary of the Jones & Rickard Group
  • Phil Peckman stepped back from day-to-day management, remaining invested in the Group's future as a Director and significant Shareholder.
  • Rod Abell becomes CEO of the Jones & Rickard Group.

2018 - Schneider Electric selects Dynelec as it's Australian adaptation provider for the VOX 36kV Outdoor Circuit Breaker.

2020 - Dynelec becomes an Authorised Distributor & Repairer for the ATB Morley motor range and the ATB Laurence Scott motor range.

2021 - CO7 Technologies of Canada acquires the VOX Outdoor Circuit Breaker product from Schneider Electric. CO7 selects Dynelec as its Australian & New Zealand Partner for the customisation, sales and support of the VOX 36kV Outdoor Circuit Breaker.

2021 - J&R acquires Kingsmann Engineering, a niche Steam Turbine overhaul specialist. The business is integrated into our Smithfield facility, led by Michael Sears.

2022 - Steam Turbine specialist, Mitchell Donnelly, joins the Group after seven years with Toshiba conducting power station turbine overhaul works. Mitchell leads our Steam Turbine team.

2022 - Dynelec transitions from AS/NZS3800:2012 to AS/NZS3800:2020.

2022 - Dynelec becomes a partner with Nanoprecise Sci Corp of Canada, to provide AI IoT based rotating machine monitoring solutions.

2023 -

  • Rikki Papesch becomes CEO of Jones and Rickard Group 
  • Jones and Rickard Group acquires IC Switchboards and Mechanical 

2024 - 

  • Kris Musarevski becomes COO of Jones and Rickard Group
  • Accredited to ISO9001:2015, ISO45001:2018 and AS/NZ3800

For more than 70 years Dynelec has been a major service provider to BHP, BlueScope Steel, Metal Manufacturers, Infrabuild, Sydney Water, Water NSW, Qenos, Boral, Morgan Cement, Svitzer, Schneider Electric, Sydney Trains, Snowy Hydro, Platinum Cables, Visy Paper and local industry over the 70 year period.

 

J&R Magnetics and Dynelec are both 100% owned subsidiaries of the Jones & Rickard Group.
